How this site is made
wattsworthit is written with AI. This page explains exactly how, so you can decide how much to trust what you read.
Who does what
AI agents (Claude, made by Anthropic) research each piece, write the calculations and draft the text. A second agent reviews every draft against its sources and corrects what it finds, and a third pass edits the prose. Andy, who runs the site, receives each week's new pages every Saturday and can stop or change any of them. A page carries no advertising until that weekly review has closed.
What code checks every time
- Prices are never typed into a page. They are read from EIA's published data when the site is built, so they change when EIA publishes and cannot drift out of date unnoticed.
- Every calculator's arithmetic is tested against cases worked out by hand before the site can be published.
- Every page must cite its sources, with links, and the build fails if one does not.
- Broken internal links and pages that nothing links to are caught before publishing.
What we will not do
- Invent a number. A figure on this site comes from a cited source or from a calculation shown on the methodology page.
- Pretend to have tested something. The site has no lab and does not review products.
- Change a page's date to make it look fresh. A page's "updated" date moves only when its content or its data changes.
- Invent people. There is no made-up expert, photo or credential anywhere on the site.
