What this site collects, what it does not, and your choices.
The short version
- What you type into a calculator (a wattage, a price, last winter's gas use) stays in your browser. It is never sent to a server.
- There are no user accounts, so no names, emails or passwords are collected.
- Google Analytics runs here to count visits, and it sets cookies. Nothing else on the site does.
What happens to what you type
The calculators run entirely in your browser using data that is part of the page. Nothing you enter is transmitted, stored on a server or written to your device, and it is gone when you close or reload the page. Analytics, when it runs, sees that a page was loaded, never what you typed into a calculator.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, the hosting provider records standard request data: IP address, browser, referring page and time. Cloudflare hosts the site, and its privacy policy applies to that data. The site is operated from Argentina, so data you send by requesting a page may be processed outside your own country.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, which browser and device they use, and which site sent them. It sets cookies to recognize a returning browser. IP addresses are not stored. The data is used in aggregate to decide what to write next and is never sold. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or any tracker-blocking browser; the site works the same either way. More in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookies
The only cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics, described above. Your light or dark theme choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, which is never transmitted anywhere.
Consent in the EU, UK and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this site runs Google Consent Mode, and analytics and advertising storage are denied by default before anything loads. No advertising is served yet, so there is no advertising cookie.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data; under California law (CCPA/CPRA) you may know what is collected, request deletion and opt out of its sale or sharing. This site holds no user accounts or visitor database and does not sell personal information; requests about analytics or advertising data are handled by Google, which controls it.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date.
